Breaking News Part II: Dorfplan von Tscheschen 1944
Ok, I realize that this is from 1944, but I am positive that the Obieglos and Kondzielas came from this village. There are Obieglos galore listed here. Also a Lebek and a Kondziela. If you look at some of

Ann MatcheyJuly 1, 2012 8:58 AMThis is kind of a test to see if I can post,,, Here is who I think they are, back row: Valentine, Olga, Romeo, middle row: Rose, Grandma Olga, Leo (Nick), Grandpa Robert, Lillian, Jennie on Grandma's lap and Joe on Grandpa's lap, Mary would by the gestating baby and August not thought of yet. I think I might be correct about the names but Lillian and Rose just a guess because I went by height and age. Any corrections?ReplyDelete
Brian KonselaJuly 2, 2012 4:50 PMI think August (Dad) was thought of, Grandma is pregnant.ReplyDeleteReplies
Ann MatcheyJuly 2, 2012 4:59 PMNo I think she was pregnant with Mary, your dad is the youngest. Did you see the picture I posted of Olga and Jennie? It ended up on the main page, don't know how to move to the picture section, maybe Bev can do that.Delete

This is the grave for Rosine/Rosa (Lybeck) Kondziela, Robert's mother. It probably is also the grave for Franz/Frank, Robert's dad. This picture was posted on ancestry.com in 2009 by a descendant of Ignatz "Nick" Konsella, Robert's brother. This is the description that they posted with it:
Marker for Rosa Kondsiela in the St.
Boniface Catholic Church cemetery in Waumandee, Buffalo County,
Wisconsin. Almost completely unreadable, now is it is worn and covered
in lichen. Perhaps the two small stones on either side mark the resting
places for Rosa and Franz.
Harry Allen
For those of you that don't know who I am, I am Joe Konsela's grandson, and Patricia Konsela's son, Joe Heath. I have been doing a lot of stuff with genealogy over the past year and have been graciously granted rights to post on here because I have a few things that you guys might be interested in. I thought that something that you guys might be interested in was the Harry Allen story. I've heard that some of you used to visit him from time to time.
I'll give you a progression of the stories and facts as they developed for me.
My grandpa told a very interesting story about Harry saying that

Robert & Olga Konsela Certif of Marriage
Notice the Full Name of the mother of the wife: Johanna Obieglo, (nee Libeck or Liberk). I had to click on the image to enlarge it and then click again to get a nice large image. I received this from Bob & Vivian last week. Vivian said that this is proof that Robert and Olga were first cousins. So could the other posted documents (Death Certificate & Olga Konsela Obituary) be wrong?????
Olga Obieglo Konsela Obituary
This obituary was copied from the Winona Newspaper Project website. I used the Advanced Search, typed in Robert Konsela and checked Search in All Publications. Notice Jennie Miemietz in the obituary. To read other posts and comments on this topic, click on: Cousins to Begin With, Cousins to Begin With - Documentation, and Grandma Konsela's Certificate of Death. Has anyone solved this mystery?

Barbara Konsela
This is a photo received some time ago from Anna Konkel. Please refer to the blog entry sent from Shirley to learn more.
Konsela Family Picture at Lillian's Wedding
Here’s the picture of Mum & dad’s wedding. The person right next to Mum is her brother Clifton Knutson, the other 3, I don’t know but will find out. --Brian.
("Mum and Dad" in this case are Myrna and August on their wedding day, November 25, 1954.) When you find out Brian who the other 3 are, we will add their names. I suspect the one by your dad may be Don Konsela because as I recall, he told me he was your dad's "best man" at his wedding. Ask your dad about the shivaree... http://www.waywordradio.org/shivaree/ or http://www.shivareehats.com/tradition.htm
I just found this out this morning: The people in the wedding pic that I sent are from left to right are: Marian Knutson, Mum’s sister, Clifton Knutson, Mum’s brother, Mum & Dad, Cousin Donald Konsela and his sister, Cousin Ruth.
Here’s another pic of the wedding party at a later date, the same people......just a couple of years older.
...................................................
This a picture of the whole family taken the same time as the second wedding picture. I think this is the last time we all got together for a picture. Back row from left to right is Tod, Terry, Dean, Becky, Brian, Julie, Carol, Ivan, Dad, Jean and Mum

Jim and I visited Bob & Vivian last week. We heard all about the wonderful party their children put on for them. They assured us that they did not want a party, but they were so excited to tell us all about it.

IDENTIFICATION TIME AGAIN
Here are more photos for you to identify. These are photos from Anna Konkel which should give you a great clue to begin with.
1905 CENSUS DOCUMENTS
I thought most of you would find this interesting. There is much we can learn from these two documents. I will comment on them once I have time to print them out and study them more. Each document is its own scan so you should be able to make them larger by clicking on them.
COUSINS TO BEGIN WITH - DOCUMENTATION
I have found these two documents that would prove grandma and grandpa were first cousins. Now we just have to figure out where the name "Miemietz" came from for great grandmother Obieglo?
When you add documents or pictures you have to do a "POST" rather than a comment. I would have preferred to add it to the "Cousins to begin with" so all that information would stay together. Does anyone have another suggestion of how to keep this more organized here? Bev, should I be doing it differently. I could email it to you and you could put it where it better belongs???

Just in time for the Konsela Cousin Gathering, Ancestry.com has offered free searching. But only from July 4 through the 8th. I just discovered that quite by accident today. Wish I had known two days ago!
