June
25, 2012
Dear Cousins,
By this time you have all received and read the June 1st
letter and felt the energy that is building for the Konsela Cousins Gathering
on 8/18/12. We are pleased with the
positive response we’ve received and look forward to hearing from cousins we
haven’t yet heard from. More and more
we are convinced this will be a memorable gathering whose pictures and mementos
will hold a prominent place in the scrap books, picture boxes and CDs of cousins
and their descendents.
We are happy to announce a KONSELA BLOG!!!! On June 27th, 2012, go to Google
and put in the GOOGLE search box what you see in blue here: konselacousinsgathering.blogspot.com. You will
find pictures, articles, and topics which are only a hint of what will be
available in real documents and pictures on August 18, 2012. Read and enjoy. We’re sure you will be as surprised and
pleased with the BLOG as we, on the planning team are. If you have any questions or if you have
difficulty accessing the BLOG, please call or email any of us at the numbers
listed below.
On the BLOG you will see a sampling of pictures,
documents and articles which are representative of the many things you will see
in reality on August 18, 2012. On the
BLOG, read about the LOGO. On the BLOG,
read the article and see the picture of August, our uncle who, along with our
aunt Myrna will be in person at the Gathering as our honorary guests. On the BLOG, see a profile of the caterer
who will cater for us on August 18, 2012.
On the BLOG, see pictures of
your cousins in action, making decorations in preparation for the Konsela
Cousins Gathering. On the Blog read
about the OLPH church which has been converted to the Trempleau County Museum
and Historical Society. Best of all,
see a listing of all your cousins coming to the Konsela Cousins Gathering on
8/18/12. For those cousins who don’t have a computer, please get
together with a cousin who has one so you also, may see the fascinating Konsela
Cousins BLOG. For our protection and
privacy, the BLOG will be open to Konsela First Cousins only. Persons other than the Konsela 1st
cousins will not have access to it. Please note, the essential information for
the Gathering is in the letters, so you won’t miss any information about the
gathering if you don’t see the BLOG. But
don’t miss it. It is so much fun to see.
Now is the time for all cousins to firm up the commitment
to be at the Konsela Cousins Gathering on 8/18/12 by giving your $12.00 per
person to the contact person in your family, who will send it on to the
planning team. The $12.00 per person is
for the entire day, not just a part of it.
Get your money’s worth. Plan to
attend the whole day, beginning at 12 noon.
For your convenience, contact persons are listed: Ray Lisowski, Paul Konkel, Bernadette Konter
Duelman, Don Konsela, Shirley Ann Konsela Grenawalt, Ron Konsela, Marge Konsela
Nicolai, Bill Thoma, Ann Pogreba Matchey, and Jean Konsela Metz.
This is one day you won’t want to miss. If you haven’t already, take the time to adjust
your schedule so you can be with the rest of your cousins on this day. All your cousins want to see you at this
event. Plan to make a day of it
starting at noon. Remember, your generous sharing of
yourself on this day will make the Konsela Cousins Gathering enjoyable, fun and
memorable for all.
The hall will be air conditioned and is handicapped
accessible. We will have a cot
available at the gathering in an adjoining room for your convenience in case you
want to have a lie-down. It is a long
day.
Please review the 1st letter from us; it has suggestions
in it of things you might find in your attic or photograph books that you could
bring to display on your family’s display table and show it to your cousins who
may have never seen it or not seen it for a very long time. If you misplaced the 1st letter,
can’t find it in your computer or if the dog ate it, you can find a copy of it
on the BLOG. Remember to bring things
you have because you want to have something on your family’s table to show—old
letters, pictures, doily, apron, lantern, plow (?) tools, crochet hooks, a
dish, a prayer book, rosary, other books, first telephone in your family, etc.
etc.
Again, please let us know what you would like to do to
help. We want to include everyone, yet
you may have skills and talents which we may not know about. Are you a story teller? Would you like to help decorate in the
morning? Do you sing? Do you play an instrument? Do you do photography? We’re
looking for someone, preferably a spouse, who can take a picture of us as a
crowd. Can you move tables and chairs
and help set up the room beforehand?
Can you help clean up afterward?
Would you like to help hostess?
Would you like to set the table?
Would you like to help the MC?
There are many things that need to be done even now, long before that
day, and many things to do on that day. We’d
like to have these tasks arranged as soon as we can. Let us know your talents, interests and suggestions. We don’t anticipate needing to wash
dishes—we have paper and plastic, hopefully corn ware.
Your
generous sharing of yourself with your cousins on this day will make the
Konsela Cousins Gathering enjoyable, fun and memorable for all.
Your
cousins,
